Description

This classic peach cobbler is a warm and comforting dessert with juicy peaches baked under a buttery, golden-brown crust. Itโ€™s perfect for summer gatherings or cozy evenings. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a truly irresistible treat!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the filling:
    • 6-8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or 6 cups)
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 tbsp cornstarch
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • For the topping:
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted
    • 3/4 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:ย Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon (if using). Toss well to coat the peaches evenly.
    • Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9ร—13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly.
  3. Make the Topping:
    • In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Stir in melted butter and milk until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Assemble:
    • Pour the batter over the peaches, spreading it out gently with a spatula. The topping doesnโ€™t need to cover the peaches completely.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.
  6. Serve:
    • Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • If using canned peaches, drain them well before using and reduce the sugar in the filling to ยฝ cup.
  • Frozen peaches can also be used. Thaw and drain them before mixing with the other filling ingredients.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg over the peaches.
