Ingredients
Scale
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 40 miniature chocolate-covered peanut butter cups, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Combine Ingredients: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk into the wet mixture. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined to form the cookie dough.
- Form Dough Balls: Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Place each ball into an ungreased mini muffin tin slot.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes, until the cookies are lightly browned.
- Add Peanut Butter Cups: Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press a miniature peanut butter cup into the center of each cookie. The edges of the cookie will form around the candy.
- Cool: Allow the cookies to cool in the muffin tin for about 10 minutes, then carefully remove them and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
- Peanut Butter: For best results, use processed creamy peanut butter brands like Jif or Skippy. Natural peanut butters may result in a different texture.
- Butter: Ensure the butter is at room temperature to achieve a smooth and creamy mixture.
- Unwrapping Candies: Unwrap the miniature peanut butter cups while the cookies are baking to save time and ensure they are ready to be placed into the cookies immediately after baking.
- Storage: Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
