- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 8 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese
- Pepperoni slices (enough to top patties)
- 8 Tbsp jarred marinara sauce
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for bun)
- 4 Kaiser rolls or hamburger buns
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, Italian sausage, and Italian seasoning; knead and form into four thick patties.
- Cook patties in skillet over mediumโhigh heat: fry a few minutes on one side, then flip.
- Immediately top each patty with two cheese slices and pepperoni; continue cooking until cheese melts and patties are cooked through.
- Split buns and toast cutโsides in butter in skillet until golden and crisp.
- Spread marinara on both bun halves, sprinkle Parmesan on the sauce.
- Assemble: bottom bun, patty, top bun; serve immediately.
