Description

A hearty and savory one-pan Philly Cheese Beef Skillet featuring ground beef, bell peppers, onions, and melted cheese, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Drain excess fat if necessary, then add sliced bell peppers, onion, and garlic.
  4. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. Stir well to combine.
  6. Add beef broth and let simmer for 2-3 minutes to enhance flavor and moisten the mixture.
  7. Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese evenly over the skillet.
  8. Cover with a lid and let cheese melt, about 2-3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat.
  • Can substitute provolone with mozzarella or a cheese blend.
  • Great served over rice, pasta, or in hoagie rolls.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
