For the Filling:

  • 1/3 cup (67g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2โ€“3 tbsp (30-45ml) milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, combine warm milk and water. Sprinkle the yeast over the liquid and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
    • Add the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.
    • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Add a few drops of pink gel food coloring and knead until the color is evenly distributed and the dough is smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free area until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Rolls:
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a 10ร—15-inch rectangle.
    • Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
    • Starting from the long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
    • Place the rolls into a greased 9ร—13-inch baking dish. Cover and let them rise again until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
  4. Bake:
    • Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
    • Once the rolls have risen, bake them for 25-30 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  5. Prepare the Glaze:
    • While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by beating together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
  6. Glaze and Serve:
    • Allow the rolls to cool slightly before spreading the cream cheese glaze over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!

  • For a natural pink hue, you can use beetroot powder or pitaya (dragon fruit) powder instead of food coloring.
