They make an ideal appetizer, snack, or party treat thatโ€™s sure to impress your guests. With a touch of barbecue sauce and a gooey cheese filling, theyโ€™re irresistible bites of comfort food.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked pulled pork
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a cheese blend)
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the pulled pork with barbecue sauce until evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 9 equal squares (total of 18 squares).
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of the pulled pork mixture in the center of each square. Top with a pinch of shredded cheese.
  5. Fold each square diagonally to form a triangle and press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  6. Brush the tops of the pastry triangles with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Transfer the pastries to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15โ€“18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley, if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use leftover pulled pork or store-bought pulled pork to save time.
  • Feel free to substitute the barbecue sauce with buffalo sauce for a spicier version.
  • These pastries can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven at 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) for 5โ€“7 minutes.
