Description
This Garlic Butter Chicken is juicy, flavorful, and made with simple pantry ingredients. Tender chicken pieces are seared to golden perfection and smothered in a buttery garlic sauce with a touch of herbs. It’s fast, satisfying, and perfect over rice, pasta, or veggies.
Ingredients
-
1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1/2 tsp paprika (optional, for color and flavor)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter
-
5 garlic cloves, minced
-
1/2 tsp dried Italian seasoning or thyme
-
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
-
Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Season the chicken:
Sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
Cook the chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Make the garlic butter sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt. Stir in garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it brown). Add Italian seasoning.
Combine and serve:
Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon, if desired.
Notes
-
Add a splash of chicken broth or cream if you want a saucier version.
-
Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, pasta, or roasted veggies for a full meal.
-
Want it spicy? Toss in some red pepper flakes with the garlic.
