Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cookie Dough:
    • Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
    • In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk. Mix until combined.
  2. Shape the Cookies:
    • Scoop 1-inch balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
    • Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to create an indentation in the center of each ball.
  3. Bake the Cookies:
