Description

Fun and festive Rice Krispie Easter nests, made with gooey marshmallows and topped with candy eggs, perfect for spring celebrations.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pastel-colored candy-coated chocolate eggs (like M&Ms or mini Cadbury eggs)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and gently stir until evenly coated.
  4. Lightly grease or butter the cups of a muffin tin or a baking sheet. Spoon the Rice Krispie mixture into the muffin tin, pressing it gently into the shape of nests.
  5. While the nests are still warm, press 2-3 candy eggs into the center of each nest.
  6. Let the nests cool and set for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
  7. Once set, carefully remove the nests from the muffin tin or baking sheet and serve.

Notes

  • You can use other candy decorations, like jelly beans or mini chocolate eggs, for variety.
  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of salt to the melted marshmallow mixture.
  • These nests are best enjoyed within 1-2 days, as they can become a little stale over time.
