- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pastel-colored candy-coated chocolate eggs (like M&Ms or mini Cadbury eggs)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and gently stir until evenly coated.
- Lightly grease or butter the cups of a muffin tin or a baking sheet. Spoon the Rice Krispie mixture into the muffin tin, pressing it gently into the shape of nests.
- While the nests are still warm, press 2-3 candy eggs into the center of each nest.
- Let the nests cool and set for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Once set, carefully remove the nests from the muffin tin or baking sheet and serve.
Notes
- You can use other candy decorations, like jelly beans or mini chocolate eggs, for variety.
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of salt to the melted marshmallow mixture.
- These nests are best enjoyed within 1-2 days, as they can become a little stale over time.
