- 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (plus extra for topping)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, add the Rice Chex cereal and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the caramel sauce, butter, and brown sugar. Stir until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal, gently folding to coat evenly.
- Once coated, let the mixture cool slightly, then transfer it to a large zip-top bag.
- Add the powdered sugar to the bag, seal it tightly, and shake until the cereal is fully coated.
- Spread the coated cereal on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool completely.
- Sprinkle with additional sea salt before serving, if desired.
