Description

These delicious Sausage Gravy Biscuit Cups are the perfect breakfast or brunch option! Flaky biscuit dough forms little cups, filled with creamy sausage gravy. Theyโ€™re easy to make and perfect for a crowd. Serve them warm for a comforting, flavorful bite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven:ย Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
  • Prepare the biscuit cups:ย Separate the refrigerated biscuit dough and press each biscuit into the muffin tin cups, creating a cup shape. Press the dough up the sides to form a well for the gravy.
  • Cook the sausage:ย In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.
  • Make the gravy:ย Add butter to the sausage in the skillet. Once melted, sprinkle in the flour and stir to combine. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens into a creamy gravy. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
  • Fill the biscuit cups:ย Spoon the sausage gravy evenly into each biscuit cup.
  • Bake:ย Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuit cups are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Garnish and serve:ย Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • If you like a spicier flavor, use spicy breakfast sausage or add red pepper flakes to the gravy.
  • You can make the sausage gravy ahead of time and just assemble and bake the cups when ready.
  • Serve with scrambled eggs for a complete breakfast.
