  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For the Toppings

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional: pepperoni slices, diced bell peppers, or mushrooms

Instructions

Make the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

2. Prepare the Sauce

  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir and simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.

3. Assemble the Pizza

  1. Preheat the oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC). Grease a large rectangular baking sheet or pizza pan.
  2. Roll out the dough into a rectangle or circle, about ยฝ inch thick, and transfer it to the prepared pan.
