Ingredients
Scale
- For the Breading Mix:
- 1 1/2 cups plain breadcrumbs
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- For the Pork Chops:
- 4-6 boneless or bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Prepare the Breading Mix:
- In a large zip-top plastic bag, combine the breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, celery salt, and onion powder.
- Seal the bag and shake well to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
- Add the vegetable oil to the breadcrumb mixture, reseal the bag, and shake until the mixture is well combined and resembles wet sand.
- Prepare the Pork Chops:
- Rinse the pork chops under lukewarm water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Brush all sides of the pork chops with olive oil to help the breading adhere.
- Coat the Pork Chops:
- Place one pork chop into the bag with the breading mix. Seal the bag, leaving some air inside, and shake gently to coat the pork chop evenly.
- Remove the coated pork chop and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Repeat the process for each pork chop, ensuring they are spaced evenly on the baking sheet.
- Bake:
- Bake the pork chops in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- Flip the pork chops over and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145ยฐF (63ยฐC) and the breading is golden brown and crispy.
- Rest and Serve:
- Remove the pork chops from the oven and let them rest for 3-5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
- For extra crispy pork chops, place a wire rack on the baking sheet and arrange the pork chops on the rack. This allows air to circulate around the meat, preventing the bottom from becoming soggy.
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the breading mix.
- Leftover pork chops can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, bake in a 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) oven for 10 minutes, or until heated through.
