This easy guacamole recipe is fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor! Perfect as a dip for chips or a topping for tacos, burritos, or any of your favorite Mexican dishes. Made with just a handful of simple ingredients, itโ€™s ready in minutes and is always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados, halved, pitted, and peeled
  • 1 lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 small red onion, finely diced
  • 2 small Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
  • 1 jalapeรฑo, seeded and minced (optional, for heat)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher until smooth with some chunks remaining for texture.
  2. Add lime juice, salt, cumin, and garlic powder (if using). Stir to combine.
  3. Fold in the diced onion, tomatoes, jalapeรฑo, and cilantro. Mix gently to avoid over-mixing.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, lime juice, or pepper if needed.
  5. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • For a smoother guacamole, use a blender or food processor.
  • Store leftover guacamole in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed against the surface to prevent browning.
  • Feel free to customize with additional mix-ins like diced mango, roasted corn, or crumbled queso fresco.
