Description
This Slow Cooker Coca Cola Chicken is an easy, family-friendly recipe with just a handful of ingredients. The soda creates a sticky-sweet glaze that pairs perfectly with savory BBQ sauce and tender, slow-cooked chicken. Great for busy weeknights, meal prep, or casual get-togethers!
Ingredients
1 cup Coca-Cola (not diet)
1 cup BBQ sauce (any brand or flavor you like)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional for depth)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Add ingredients to the slow cooker:
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix together Coca-Cola, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder. Pour the sauce over the chicken. -
Slow cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and easily shredded with a fork. -
Shred and thicken (optional):
Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return to the slow cooker and stir into the sauce. If desired, let it cook uncovered for another 15–20 minutes to thicken the sauce slightly.
-
Serve:
Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, sandwich rolls, or with your favorite side dishes. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
-
Use thighs for extra juicy, flavorful chicken.
-
Add a dash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes if you like it spicy.
-
Leftovers make great sandwiches, wraps, or sliders!
