Description

This luscious strawberry cream cheese frosting is a perfect blend of creamy, tangy, and sweet. Made with real strawberries and rich cream cheese, it’s ideal for frosting cakes, cupcakes, or even cookies. The fresh strawberry flavor gives it a natural pink hue, making it as beautiful as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (100g) fresh strawberries, hulled and puréed
  • 8 oz (227g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cups (360-480g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer the strawberry purée over medium heat until reduced by half (about 1/4 cup). This intensifies the flavor. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the cooled strawberry purée and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until combined.
  4. Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired sweetness and consistency.
  5. Add a pinch of salt to balance the flavors, and mix thoroughly.
  6. Frost your favorite cake, cupcakes, or cookies. Enjoy!

Notes

  • To make the frosting thicker, add more powdered sugar.
  • For a smoother texture, strain the strawberry purée before using.
  • This frosting is best used immediately, but it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Let it come to room temperature before using.
