Description

These adorable strawberry pie hearts are the perfect treat for Valentineโ€™s Day, a romantic dessert, or a sweet snack! Made with flaky pie crust, filled with juicy strawberry jam, and shaped like hearts, theyโ€™re easy to make and sure to impress.

  • 2 pre-made pie crusts (or homemade if preferred)
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam (or your favorite fruit jam)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the pie crusts to about 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out an even number of heart shapes from the dough.
  4. Place half of the heart shapes on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon about 1-2 teaspoons of strawberry jam onto the center of each heart, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Brush the edges of the hearts with the beaten egg. Place another heart on top of each filled heart and press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  6. Brush the tops with more egg wash and, if desired, sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  7. Use a sharp knife to cut a small vent on the top of each pie heart.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the hearts are golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!

Notes

  • You can substitute strawberry jam with raspberry, blueberry, or peach jam for variety.
  • These pie hearts store well in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
