- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
- 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned, with juices)
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water or beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Sour cream and jalapeño slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add garlic and taco seasoning, stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water or broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top, cover, and cook on low until cheese is melted, about 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro, sour cream, and jalapeños if desired. Serve hot.
