- 4 beef or chicken hot dogs
- 4 hot dog buns
- 1 cup chili (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for grilling)
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush the hot dogs with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the hot dogs for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are heated through and have grill marks.
- While the hot dogs are grilling, warm the chili in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Once the hot dogs are cooked, place them in the buns.
- Top each hot dog with a spoonful of warm chili, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, diced red onion, and jalapeños.
- Drizzle with salsa and sour cream for a creamy, tangy finish.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve immediately.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer jalapeños and using a mild or spicy chili.
- For extra crunch, add some crushed tortilla chips on top before serving.
- If you prefer a milder option, omit the jalapeños or substitute with mild banana peppers.
