For the Brownies:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
For Decoration:
- 1/2 cup chocolate frosting (for optional extra fudginess)
- White icing or melted white chocolate (for football laces)
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare:ย Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
- Mix Wet Ingredients:ย In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients:ย In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Make the Batter:ย Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake:ย Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30โ35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Cool & Cut:ย Let the brownies cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, use a football-shaped cookie cutter or cut them into football shapes by hand.
- Decorate:ย If using chocolate frosting, spread a thin layer over each brownie for extra fudginess. Pipe white icing or melted white chocolate on top to create football laces.
