- Crust:

- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Chocolate Pudding Layer:
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 3/4 cups whole milk
- 3 large egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped Cream:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Make the crust: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix chocolate crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish or springform pan. Bake for 8–10 minutes, then cool.
- Make the brownie layer: In a saucepan, melt butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until smooth.
- Spread brownie batter over cooled crust. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely.
- Make the pudding layer: In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt. Slowly whisk in milk and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbling. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Let cool slightly, then pour over brownie layer. Chill until firm, about 1–2 hours.
- Make the whipped cream: In a bowl, beat cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over the chilled pudding layer.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder if desired. Chill until ready to serve.
