Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups Valentine’s Day M&M’s
- 1 1/2 cups crushed Oreo cookies (about 12-15 Oreos)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, and the vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the add-ins: Gently fold in the crushed Oreos, Valentine’s M&M’s, and chocolate chips (if using).
- Form the cookies: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop 1.5 to 2-tablespoon portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Bake: Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
- Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can substitute regular M&M’s if you don’t have the Valentine’s version, but the festive colors make these extra special.
- If you prefer a softer cookie, reduce the baking time by a minute or two.
