Torta de Jamón is a classic Mexican sandwich made with crusty bolillo bread, layers of ham, creamy avocado, pickled jalapeños, tomato, and lettuce. It’s a satisfying and flavorful lunch or on-the-go meal.

- 4 bolillo rolls (or similar crusty sandwich rolls)
- 8 slices of deli ham
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons mustard (optional)
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
- Butter for toasting (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the bolillo rolls in half lengthwise. Spread mayonnaise (and mustard, if using) on the inside of each half.
- Optional: Lightly butter the outsides and toast the rolls on a skillet or griddle until golden and warm.
- Layer the bottom half with 2 slices of ham, avocado slices, tomato slices, lettuce, and pickled jalapeños.
- Top with the other half of the roll. Press down gently to hold the layers together.
- Serve immediately or wrap for an on-the-go meal.

- Use a combination of meats like turkey or chorizo for variety.
- Add sliced cheese such as panela or Oaxaca for extra richness.
- Serve with chips, fries, or a cold Mexican soda for a complete meal.
