Description

This Tremendous Cheesy Pepperoni Stromboli is a flavor-packed, cheesy delight that’s perfect for game days, family dinners, or anytime you crave a savory, comforting snack. Loaded with gooey mozzarella, zesty pepperoni, and wrapped in golden, crispy dough, this stromboli is a crowd-pleaser that’s quick and easy to make!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 10×14 inches.
  3. Layer the Fillings:
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then evenly distribute the pepperoni slices. Add a layer of grated Parmesan, and sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder on top.
  4. Roll the Stromboli:
Starting from the long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, sealing the edges by pinching them together. Place the seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Add the Egg Wash:
Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg to give it a golden, shiny finish when baked.
  6. Bake:
Using a sharp knife, make a few diagonal slits on top of the stromboli to allow steam to escape. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Cool and Serve:
Let the stromboli cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Add extra fillings like sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or cooked sausage for variety.
  • Use a mix of cheeses like provolone or cheddar for different flavors.
  • Make sure to seal the edges tightly to prevent the cheese from oozing out.
