For the Cookie Dough:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
For the Twists:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cookie Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and milk.
- Gradually add the flour and stir until well combined.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips. Set aside.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth any creases.
- Assemble the Twists:
- Spread the prepared cookie dough evenly over half of the puff pastry sheet. Fold the other half of the pastry over the cookie dough to cover it.
- Lightly press down to seal the layers together.
- Cut the dough into 1-inch-wide strips. Twist each strip carefully and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the Twists:
- Brush each twist with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- Bake for 12โ15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the twists cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
